Arrival in Bishkek
Welcome to Kyrgyzstan! After your arrival in Bishkek, you’ll be transferred to our hotel. We gather for a welcome lunch, get to know each other, and start getting excited for the adventure ahead! In the afternoon, we explore Bishkek’s buzzling bazaars and squares before enjoying a traditional Kyrgyz dinner. Optional: a visit to a small, nostalgic Soviet amusement park.
3-Day Ala Kul Hike
Alright - this is the main character arc! Three days of real trekking, big views, and that satisfying "legs are working but soul is happy" feeling. Heads up: its going to be tough! Day 1 we hike into the valley and climb up to the yurt camp. Day 2 is the spicy one: Ala Kul Lake, then we go over the Ala Kul Pass (3.900m), and drop into the Altyn Arashan valley where hot springs basically feel like a reward from the universe! Day 3 is a smoother downhill walk back toward Karakol.
Jety Oguz & Skazka Canyon
After the hike, we trade the alpine trails for an epic road trip filled with incredible views. We stop for lunch overlooking Jety Oguz, where dramatic red rock formations rise from the valley. In the afternoon, we arrive at the magical Skazka Canyon and explore its surreal shapes glowing in the evening light. We set up camp, share stories under a sky full of stars, and wake up to a beautiful sunrise right from our tents.
Camping at Aksay Canyon
The canyon views aren’t over yet! We make our way to Issyk-Kul Lake near Aksay, where we can rest at a yurt camp and cool off with a refreshing swim - the lake feels almost like the ocean with a really nice beach. For sunset, we hike up to a canyon viewpoint for a view you’ve probably never seen before. And what’s better than just seeing it? Exactly - camping right there under the stars!
3-Day Horse Trek
Now it’s time to go full nomad. We drive to Kyzart, meet our horses, get comfortable in the saddle and ride out into the valleys toward Kilemche, where a cozy yurt camp awaits us for the night. On day two we ride toward Song Kul Lake - life there feels slow and pure with lots of animals around! On the final day, we saddle up one last time and ride back before hopping in the car to Bishkek for our last night - tired, dusty, happy, and with a head full of unforgettable stories.
Where are we going to stay?
This trip blends diverse stays: a comfy city hotel, a local guest house, traditional shared yurts, a cozy mountain hut, and unforgettable nights camping under the stars.
Expect authenticity, not luxury!
